About Scott

Scott Lasley is a husband, father, educator, and leader. He believes the role of local government is to enhance the quality of life for residents by securing public safety, offering efficient and effective services, and creating an environment for businesses to start, thrive, and grow. As a candidate for Warren County Magistrate, Scott intends to focus on implementing effective government solutions and ideas to advance Warren County.

Scott moved with his young family to Bowling Green 20 years ago to begin his teaching career at Western Kentucky University. Warren County immediately became home and has been ever since. Today, Scott serves as the Chair of the Department of Political Science. His career in education began as a way to make a difference and is what leads him to run for magistrate today. He believes that it is the responsibility of citizens to make our communities the best they can be, and has worked to encourage his students to participate in the political process to have a positive impact on their community.

Scott is married to Heather Lasley, a teacher at Briarwood Elementary. They have twins, Annee and Hayden, who are juniors at WKU. The Lasleys attend State Street United Methodist Church.
